Why an employee sees only the CRM

What a staff account is

When an employee accepts a salon’s invitation, Bookly creates a separate account for them, labelled “Staff account” in the profile. This account:

  • opens only the CRM of the salon that invited you;
  • has no Multilink and no page of its own: “A staff account has no Bookly page of its own.”;
  • has no username: “A staff account has no username — sign in with your email.”;
  • can’t change the account type, the salon profile, the plan or billing — the salon owner does that;
  • works in the browser: the Bookly app doesn’t support staff accounts yet.

How to sign in to the CRM

  1. Open crm.bookly.me in a browser, on a phone or a computer.
  2. Sign in with the email you joined the salon with and your password.
  3. On a phone, add the page to your home screen so you don’t have to look for the address each time.

What you can do in the CRM is up to the salon — see Staff access levels in the CRM.

If something doesn’t work

“This account is for the salon’s CRM only”

“You are signed in with a staff account. It opens only the salon’s CRM — other Bookly products are closed to it.” You signed in with a staff account to Multilink or another Bookly product. Tap “Go to the CRM”.

“This staff account opens only the salon’s CRM. Open crm.bookly.me in your browser.”

This happens when a staff account is used to sign in to the Bookly app or another product. Open the CRM in a browser at crm.bookly.me.

“The owner manages the plan”

Staff don’t see or change the salon’s plan and billing: “The owner manages the plan.” If you need more seats or another plan, tell the salon owner. Someone with Full access can send a request for extra seats, which the owner pays for — see Seats on the Team plan.

I want my own Bookly page as well

A staff account has no page. For a page of your own you need a separate personal Bookly account on a different email. If you already have a personal account, the salon invites you at another address — for Gmail, the same one with +salon before the @ works.

I can’t sign in to the Bookly app

The Bookly app doesn’t support staff accounts yet. Use the CRM in a browser — on a phone it’s handy to add it to the home screen.

Signing in with a username doesn’t work

Staff accounts have no username. Sign in with your email — the one you joined the salon with.

  • The CRM is view-only: why and what to do

    The CRM turns view-only when your plan couldn’t be checked, the account is suspended, or the salon’s plan has no CRM — Basic, Pro and Team all include it, so that only happens with a plan set up by the Bookly team. On Basic the CRM works, with Basic’s limits.

  • An employee leaves: turn off access, archive or delete

    Turn off the employee’s CRM access: they lose it at once on every device. A card with bookings or payroll history isn’t deleted but archived, so the history stays and the card no longer takes a seat.
