About call-outs, measure-ups, emergency jobs and work that runs for weeks. If you cannot find the answer you need, reach out to our team.
Contact usThe first step towards the job — a call-out, a measure-up or a viewing: an ordinary service with its own duration and its own fee, which can be taken online upfront. The estimate that follows you put together the way you always have; Bookly does not work it out for you.
With the buffer after a service: whatever you set stays blocked and never shows up to clients as free. Bookly has no maps and builds no routes — the order you visit the addresses in is yours to decide.
In the form before the visit, which can ask for photos as well: the pipe under the sink, the fuse box, the room before the work starts. It all attaches to the booking, so whoever drives out already knows where they are going and what they are walking into.
Open the planned hours for online booking and leave part of the day closed, so you place the urgent jobs there yourself. The booking page works round the clock, so a request for tomorrow arrives even at night.
Put the stages in as separate bookings — measure-up, strip-out, first fix, handover: each gets its own date, its own confirmation and a reminder the day before. Bookly is not a project tracker, but the client card shows what is done and what is still ahead.
In the client card: visit dates, services, amounts and your notes — which part went in and what was agreed. A year later it is still there, and the messenger thread is not.
Every specialist keeps their own schedule, and the shared things — the van, the platform, the industrial vacuum — are booked as resources, so the same hours cannot be taken twice. Consumables sit in simple stock tracking; Bookly issues no invoices or completion certificates.
A trade’s day is not a column of slots but a route: between two addresses there is a drive, and it takes as much real time as a piece of the work itself. In Bookly that drive is held by the buffer after a service — whatever you set stays blocked and never shows up to clients as free. There are no maps and no route building here: the order you visit the addresses in is yours to decide, and the calendar simply refuses to put two call-outs back to back. The address, the floor, the entry code and a photo of what needs doing arrive from the form before the visit, so whoever drives out already knows what they are walking into.
The price of most jobs cannot be named over the phone, so what gets booked is not the job but the first step towards it — a call-out, a measure-up or a viewing. It is an ordinary service with its own duration and its own fee, and that fee can be taken online upfront, so nobody drives across town for nothing. The estimate that follows you put together the way you always have: Bookly does not cost materials and issues no documents. Two different kinds of work share the same day — the emergency that has to close today and the planned job that has waited weeks. That is why part of the hours is worth leaving closed to online booking: you place the urgent ones there yourself, while the rest the client takes from the page round the clock.
Long jobs live in stages — measure-up, strip-out, first fix, handover — and the client asks not which slot is theirs but what stage the work has reached. Put every stage in as its own booking: each gets a date, a confirmation and a reminder the day before, while the client card holds the whole chain from the first enquiry onwards. The same card keeps what a guarantee depends on: what was done at that address, when and with which part. In a crew every person keeps their own schedule, a shared van or platform is booked as a resource, and when you work across several towns each of them keeps a schedule of its own.
